There are still secret outposts scattered around the US where


film photography is taught and is of fairly significant interest. If you choose to not pursue using your Dad's Canon, perhaps you might donate the gear to such a school. I don't have any recommendations, but they're easily found through DuckDuckGo, where you can locate honest people and not use der google.
